Overview

The Journal of Multicultural Education and Student Affairs (MESA) is an international journal published by Researcher Publishers, an open access platform created by researchers to support collaboration among scholars, editors, and educators across the world. MESA is dedicated to promoting research, scholarship, and innovation in the areas of multicultural education, diversity, equity, inclusion, and student development. The Journal provides a facilitative forum for sharing ideas, theories, and practices that shape the educational experiences of diverse student populations in contemporary settings.

In alignment with the mission of Researcher Publishers, MESA fosters academic collaboration and open dialogue across disciplines, institutions, and cultural contexts. It welcomes empirical investigations, conceptual discussions, and reflective analyses that address issues such as culturally responsive pedagogy, inclusive curriculum design, student engagement, advising and counseling practices, equity centered leadership, campus climate, community partnerships, and identity development. The Journal also encourages interdisciplinary research that connects student affairs and multicultural education to broader social, cultural, and institutional questions.

MESA adopts the Continuous Publishing Model (CPM), transitioning from the traditional issue based system to a dynamic article centered approach. This model accelerates the dissemination of research so that new findings can reach the global readership without unnecessary delay. Articles are published individually in their final form as soon as they pass the production stage, rather than waiting for a complete issue to be assembled. Most accepted articles appear online within 10 to 20 days after final acceptance.

To avoid errors or delays that may occur when preparing multiple articles for the same issue at the same time, each article published in MESA begins on page 1. The Article Reference Number assigned during submission serves as the primary identifier for each article within an issue and replaces the traditional function of continuous page numbers. Recommended citation formats will therefore include the Article ID rather than page ranges. Although articles are published independently online, MESA continues to curate them into biannual issues for archival organization and indexing. This grouping does not affect the publication date or citation information of each article.

With a commitment to fairness, transparency, and inclusivity throughout the editorial and review processes, MESA welcomes contributions from educators, practitioners, and researchers worldwide. Through its open access model, the Journal strives to make knowledge freely available, support professional development, and strengthen the global community engaged in multicultural education and student affairs.
