Aims and Scope
The Journal of Education for Sustainable Futures (ESUF), published by Researcher Publishers, is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal. ESUF provides a platform for educators, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to examine critical issues, emerging trends, and transformative approaches that support sustainable futures through education. The Journal welcomes contributions on topics such as sustainability-oriented curriculum design, environmental and global citizenship education, inclusive and equitable learning systems, educational policy, and the integration of sustainability principles across disciplines. It also values interdisciplinary research that connects education with broader social, economic, and environmental challenges, fostering dialogue and knowledge exchange that contribute to meaningful and lasting change in diverse educational contexts. ESUF accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Empirical Research Articles (around 7,000 words, including references and appendices): Studies that present original data or new theoretical insights on sustainability-oriented curriculum design, environmental and global citizenship education, inclusive and equitable learning systems, educational policy, and the integration of sustainability principles across disciplines.
- Systematic Reviews (around 6,000 words, excluding references and appendices): Reviews or bibliometric analyses that synthesize and evaluate existing research to identify developments, innovations, and gaps in the study of education for sustainable development.
