Empirical Research Articles
Empirical research articles report original studies that make a substantial contribution to understanding issues in language education. Such articles may employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches and should be grounded in clear theoretical or conceptual frameworks and rigorous research design. Submissions should present well-structured analyses, discuss findings in relation to existing literature, and highlight meaningful implications for language teaching, learning, teacher education, or policy. The research should offer new insights that advance knowledge and practice in the field of language education.
Critical Review Articles
Critical review articles provide comprehensive and analytical syntheses of existing scholarship within a specific area of language education. They may include systematic, bibliometric, conceptual, or other rigorous forms of critical review. Reviews should be appropriately focused while engaging sufficiently with relevant scholarship to establish the current state of knowledge in the area. Critical review articles should move beyond descriptive summaries by critically evaluating theoretical, methodological, and empirical contributions, identifying significant patterns and developments, revealing research gaps or unresolved issues, and discussing implications for future research, language teaching, learning, teacher education, or policy.
